Tallahassee – Whether on Tuesday, 109 House of Representatives agreed with a resolution expressing support for the state of Israel, last Wednesday, 39 Florida senators also voted a similar resolution to express their support to Israel and condemn the Hamas attacks.

Florida Representatives agree that the State of Florida must stand firmly in solidarity with Israel in its efforts to safeguard its citizens and protect its borders, according to these resolutions.

Besides, the Florida House has allocated $45 million in emergency security funding for entities like schools, synagogues and cultural centers serving Jewish children and their families.

This security grant is to keep them safe despite the high risk for violent attacks or hate crimes in Florida, according to the House’s resolution.

Representative Randy Fine (R-Brevard) explained used to watch old videos of Germans marching through the streets calling for the extermination of Jews. “I never imagined my own children would see the same kind of marches, in 2023, in Florida,” said Representative Fine.

While in Florida pro-Palestinians marched in the streets calling out to stop the Israel-Palestine war, in Washington DC about ten thousand pro-Palestinian protesters marched for the same cause.

However, Nihad Awad, the national director at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said, “The language that President Biden and his party understands is the language of votes in the 2023 elections, and our message is: no ceasefire, no votes,” reporting the Guardian.

In response to the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, The Senate of Florida qualified this breach of Israel’s borders as the most significant threat to its security since the Yom Kippur War in 1973. And declared that the Senate of the State of Florida condemns the unprovoked and barbaric attacks by Hamas against Israel, its citizens, and Americans.

The senators, through this resolution, demand the immediate end to any financial support whether direct or indirect, of Hamas, the Iranian regime, Hezbollah, or any other entity that publicly supports these attacks and other terrorist activities.

As the Israel-Palestine conflict reaches the United States streets, pro-Palestine and pro-Israel march across all major U.S. cities while many candidates open their campaigns.
